1. Question: Why does the diversion have to be removed?

Answer: State laws say that anyone having anything in a river must address fish passage issues. In order to address fish passage issues, we must bring the fish screens and fish ladders up to the standards set by the National Marine Fisheries Service. The least expensive alternative is the removal of part or all of the diversion and the installation of a new modern pumping facility
